Iran: Crackdown on Christians
In the Islamic Republic of Iran, authorities are cracking down on Christians. Elam Ministries, an organization that serves the Persecuted Church in Iran, reports that 235 believers in 35 cities have been arrested in the past six months. Many have spent weeks and months in prison, often serving long stretches in solitary confinement. They also endure interrogation and physical abuse. Gary Lane of CBN News recently spoke with David Yeghnazer of Elam Ministries.

Pakistan: Pakistan's sole Christian minister assassinated
Pakistan's Minister of Minority Affairs, Shahbaz Bhatti, was assassinated March 2 while on his way to work in Islamabad. This is the latest attack on a high-profile Pakistani figure who had urged reforming harsh blasphemy laws that impose the death penalty for insulting Islam. Vietnam: Pastor Quang is often beaten and arrested
In this report, you'll meet Rev. Nguyen Hong Quang, a Mennonite pastor who is considered by some to be one of the most hated men among Vietnam's ruling party. A trained lawyer, Pastor Quang has challenged the government repeatedly on its violations of religious freedoms. In the last 20 years, he has been arrested, imprisoned, slandered in newspapers and followed by police. In December 2010, an estimated 500 soldiers and police officers oversaw the demolition of a two-story building that was both Pastor Quang's home and the headquarters of the Vietnam Mennonite Church. Vietnam: The cost of following Jesus
In this report, you'll meet three tribal women who traveled two days from their village in the mountains to tell us their stories. One said, "My husband was put in prison because he requested freedom of religion in the faith (Christianity)." Another told us of the challenges facing Christian women in her village because of the imprisonment of their husbands, "He's not at home. No one can do heavy labour at home, only women and children. We are afraid that the government will bring more difficulties upon our lives. You'll also meet a pastor who has suffered beatings because of his Christian activities.
